Tour description

Welcome to Azerbaijan! This is the Land of Fire and the Pearl of the Caucasus, a land where eastern colors combine magnificently with western progress. Azerbaijan’s capital Baku is the largest city of the Caucasus region and on the Caspian Sea. The city is located in the Caucasus mountains at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, on the western Caspian seaside. The second oil boom has turned the city into a crucible of architectural experimentation and some of the finest new buildings are jaw-dropping masterpieces. During the tour, you will experience history and modernity simultaneously by visiting marvelous parts of Baku city, Azerbaijan.

Sightseeing:

Baku Central Park- located in the heart of the city, 20 hectares occupied giant park possess two cafes and nine fountains, and seven playgrounds.

Partizan- fun, full of character and not as kitschy as it might sound, this theatre-dining experience has waiters dressed as Soviet soldiers who demand a password (your booking) and might bark orders at guests or break into a gun-toting dance while an accordionist plays 'Kalinka'. The menu of mostly Russian and Azerbaijani favorites comes dressed as Pravda.

Sightseeing:

Icheri Sheher (Old Town)heart of the city acts as something of an open-air museum, preserving ancient history, cultural heritage and architecture to present day. Icherisheher is a home to a wide variety of handicrafts, such as pottery, metal and glassware.

Maiden TowerBaku’s foremost historical icon, with rooftop views surveying Baku Bay and the Old City. The unique architectural and cultural building, along with the fortified walls enclosed by the historic part of the city and Palace of Shirvanshahs was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Palace of Shirvanshahs - the palace complex was built in the period from the XIII to the XVI century. The complex includes found a courtyard of the Divankhana, the courthouse, the Shirvanshahs’ burial vault, the palace mosque of 1441 with its minaret, the bathhouse and the mausoleum of the court scholar, Sayid Yahya Bakuvi.

Flame Towers- trio of sinuous blue-glass skyscrapers forms contemporary Baku's architectural signature which commands a breathtaking panorama of Baku. The design was conceived as a set of flames, driven from the ground up one of the main hills of Baku. Fire symbolizes energy and eternity, and also goes back to the ancient worship of this element. 

Baku City Boulevard - the 2nd longest boulevard in the world, in which romantic couples canoodle their way around wooded parks and hold hands on the Caspian-front bulvar (promenade), where greens and opal blues make a mockery of Baku’s desert-ringed location.

Domsoviet (Government House) - Baku’s most striking Soviet-era building is a bulky stone construction fronted by an impressive series of layered stone arches and topped by a series of mini obelisks.

Miniature Books Museumthe museum is included in the Guinness Book of Records with the gigantic collection of over 5,600 tiny books published in 66 countries around the world

Juma Mosque- was built in 1899 on the site of the temple of fire worshipers.
