Kabab - One of the most popular dishes of Azerbaijan, kabab is made of marinated or hopped or minced meat, chicken or fish, and vegetables including pepper, potato, onion, eggplant, and tomato.
Gutab – A delicious dish is a kind of pancake filled with meat, cheese, potato, pumpkin, green vegetables and it is usually served with yogurt.
Lavangi – As a national dish of Azerbaijan, lavangi is made of a chicken or fish stuffed with walnuts, onions and other ingredients baked in the oven.
Dolma - Dolma is a traditional food in Azerbaijan and it has different types prepared by stuffing vine leaves, cabbage leaves, as well as, eggplants, capsicum, and tomato with a mixture of minced meat, rice, fennel, and other local herbs.
Plov or Pilaf - Being the “leader” dish of ceremonies in Azerbaijani, Plov is prepared from rice covered with various types of herbs, vegetables, meat, and even chestnuts.
Pakhlava – Pakhlava, a famous dessert, is particularly cooked for national holiday of Azerbaijan, Novruz. The main components of the dessert are hazelnuts or Circassian walnut, milled carnation, cardamom, and crocus.
Piti – Last but not least, piti is made of mutton, tail fat, chickpeas, potato, onions, dried alycha, and saffron. What makes piti mouth watering is its cooking style – it is prepared in the oven for 8 or 9 hours, served in individual crocks with a glazed interior.
