Ganja – in the eyes of a Foreigner

Selected European Youth capital in 2016, Ganja has proven to be one of the most beautiful cities in South Caucasus. Ancient history, architectural monuments and rich nature always draw big flow of tourists to this magnificent city.

Ganja’s central mosque – Juma Mosque is considered one of the ancient historical monuments in the country. Built of red brick, this unique mosque served as “Madrasah” (Arabic word for educational institution) for a long time.

When you’re exploring Ganja, you will also find other architectural monuments which are bridges, the palace of Sultan Darus, towers, mosques, baths, caravanserais and old complexes. Another beautiful spot in the city is the large park of the parliament of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan.

While visiting Ganja, you simply can’t skip a visit to the mausoleum of the great poet, a remarkable monument of Nizami Ganjavi. This famous personality is very well known as a romantic epic poet in Persian literature.

If you wish to see another extraordinary attraction, then you need to visit Bottle House in Ganja. Around 50.000 glass bottles were used as part of the masonry. Owned by a private family, this house attracts many tourists and is one of the most photographed spots in Ganja.
